“It was a little overwhelming when I first came on board in the early 2000s. We have a big customer base in this region, and at the time we were still trying to develop our staff in Newton.” Tommy also discussed the technology Blossman Gas utilizes now as a company and how it was not as advanced as it is currently. “Back then, there was a lot more paperwork involved with the service requests we had coming in compared to now working off our tablets. I’m still adjusting to the technology, but it saves a lot of time compared to the older days of doing it all by hand.”

When not working on a Blossman installation or repair, Tommy is often found playing his bass guitar!

In 2015, Tommy decided to leave Blossman Gas to relocate with his family to Tennessee. After some time had passed, Tommy was ready to return to Mississippi. He was also interested in coming back into the Blossman Gas family. “I had missed working for Blossman when I was away in Tennessee, and I am grateful for how they treated me when I moved back and reached out to see if there was any interest in me coming back on with Blossman. From everyone at our store in Newton to all of our management working in Ocean Springs, we kept a positive dialogue throughout the entire process. It made it easy for me to re-join the Blossman family.”

When discussing what he is most busy with currently, Tommy says it is the customer demand for generators. “Unfortunately, Mississippi has to deal with multiple hurricanes throughout the year. Generators are a great resource for our customers to keep appliances running when we lose power, however, manufacturing for generators has been delayed recently. We install generators about as soon as our store receives them.” When asked about his future with Blossman, Tommy added, “I am always open to any position Blossman thinks I would be best suited for. I would say though I enjoy being out of the office, visiting customers, and installing or repairing whatever is needed. That has always suited my interests.”
