Breakfast Casserole Recipe

Breakfast Casserole on White Plate with ForkIngredients
4 cups water
1 cup quick grits
4-6 eggs
1/2 stick butter
1/4 cup milk
1 lb ground sausage
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese
•  Preheat oven to 350°, and lightly grease a 13”x 9” baking dish.
•  Bring water to a boil in a large saucepan. Stir in grits, and cook for 4 minutes, until liquid has been absorbed.
•  In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the sausage until evenly browned. Drain, and mix into the grits.
•  Beat eggs in bowl, and add one spoon of hot grits to eggs.
•  Pour the egg mixture into the large saucepan of grits. Add butter, milk, and 1 cup of cheese. Stir until butter and cheese are melted.
•  Pour mixture into baking dish, and bake for approximately 30 minutes, until brown on top.
•  Remove from oven, and sprinkle remaining cheese on top of casserole.
