Blossman’s Heat for Hunger

November means coming together for a meal to many families across the country. But, according to Feeding America, nearly 34 million people faced hunger in 2021. Blossman Gas has partnered with local food banks in our footprint to be a drop-off location this November, so that everyone can have the chance to create their own holiday memories.

Blossman’s Heat for Hunger food drive is accepting non-perishable food items in the below cities during the date ranges listed below. These food items will go to local Feeding America affiliated food banks. To view the address of a specific Blossman store, click on the city.

If you’re looking for ideas on what to bring, here are some suggestions:

Fruits & Vegetables

  • Low sodium canned vegetables
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Tomato sauce
  • Canned fruit in juice, water or light syrup
  • Unsweetened apple sauce
  • Shelf-stable fruit cups in juice
  • Raisins

Dairy

  • Dry milk (low fat)
  • Evaporated milk (2%)
  • Shelf-stable milk (1%)

Grains

  • Whole wheat pasta
  • Whole grain crackers
  • Cereals: oatmeal, grits, raisin bran, and other whole grain cereals
  • Brown rice
  • High fiber, low sugar granola bars

Proteins

  • Dried or low-sodium canned beans
  • Canned tuna in water
  • Canned salmon
  • Canned chicken
