Blossman Supports Customers During Mississippi Winter Storm

Jackson Mississippi Snow

Being in the propane business for 70 years, Blossman Gas is no stranger to operating in extreme weather. This winter, however, we have seen colder temperatures and more winter storms compared to recent years. In mid-February, the state of Mississippi (where Blossman Gas was founded) experienced a relentless snow and ice storm.

With over 250,000 homes losing power during the severe weather, Blossman Gas employees worked around the clock providing propane to customers. Joey French, Manager of the Blossman Gas location in Vicksburg, MS, says, “I can’t express enough how proud I am of how my team here in Vicksburg handled the winter storm. Our region is not equipped for snow and ice, however, we all worked long hours and weekends making sure our customers were taken care of. Many in our area relied on our generators and propane to make it through the storm.” Blossman heard from many customers throughout the winter weather, including one letter to the editor submitted to The Vicksburg Post after the storm which discussed a dangerous situation where someone was stuck at their home with no power. Fortunately, the home had a generator installed by Blossman that runs on propane. To read the letter to the editor, click HERE.

Propane customers may already be experiencing higher gas usage this year due to being home more often as a result of the pandemic, but Blossman Gas employees have been working tirelessly to ensure our customers are taken care of. Scott Sturdivant, Regional Vice President for Blossman Gas, says, “I couldn’t be prouder of the way our teams responded to meeting customer needs during the recent ice storms. I’m routinely receiving messages from customers praising the dedication of our Administrators, Gas Salesman and Technicians. You find out what you’re made of when you are against your most trying times.”
