That's a Heck of a Deal! Facebook Likes send propane cylinder "Fill Days" over the top

"That's a heck of a deal." These words can be heard at many of the Blossman stores now that grilling season has begun. That's because thousands of 20# propane gas cylinders are being filled at record pace - - all due to a discounted opportunity being embraced by of our customers.

$5 Fill Fridays, $6 Fill Saturdays, and $10 Fills all Month are seen on signs around Blossman stores across the entire Southeast and Mid Atlantic United States.

Word is getting around fast. According to Blossman Marketing Director Emily Weidie, this phenomenon is due to passing the word through social media sites such as Facebook. In Greenville, SC, recently the $5 Fill Day Facebook post was shared 655 times!

Bart Moffitt, Manager of the Greenville, SC store, filled 472 cylinders on one day alone. "Many times we were filling three cylinders simultaneously. Regional VP Scott Prewitt promoted our event on live TV and Emily Weidie promoted us through our social media channels.  I can't thank our customers enough who supported us through Facebook by promoting and sharing this event with their own friends and family."

At a recent $5 Fill Friday in Statesville, NC branch manager Jimmy Daley adds, "We did 574 cylinders and 270 people came by the branch. The line started at 7:30am and never stopped until after 5:00pm. It was definitely a great day and everyone got a great deal on their propane."

Another branch in Powhatan, VA provides $10 cylinder fills that also help to fight hunger. The branch partners with FeedMore, a major community feeding program, with a "Blossman Gas Fights Hunger" Community Food Drive. $10 fills for an entire month are offered with donation of 3-5 food items to the store's food bin. Mike Crocker, Powhatan branch manager said, " Blossman Gas wants to help FeedMore and the Central Virginia Food Bank fill the plates of children and seniors living in poverty and many others in need in our community. This is the branch's fourth food drive with a reduced cylinder fill in the past two years. We've given hundreds of pounds of food to our community."   In the winter months they host a "Heat for Hunger" program for FeedMore taking a percent of all gas sales in a one month period and donating it for local hunger needs.
