BLOSSMAN GAS HELPED TO KEEP RESIDENTS WARM THIS WINTER WITH CONTRIBUTIONS TO LOW INCOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

Blossman Gas donated $200,000 to four states experiencing the greatest heating shortages this past winter. Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama and 5 counties in North Carolina (Swain, Avery, Haywood and Jackson and Buncombe) were given donations earmarked for their Low Income Energy Assistance Programs (LIHEAP).
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps keep families safe and healthy through initiatives that assist families with energy costs. LIHEAP provides federally funded assistance in managing costs associated with: home energy bills, energy crises and weatherization and energy-related minor home repairs.
“Due to higher energy costs, which were compounded by severe propane supply challenges in some parts of the U.S, we understood there are many people in our Blossman states who were suffering with the cold weather conditions,” said Stuart Weidie, President and CEO of Blossman Gas."We heard about broken heaters, job cut backs and paychecks that didn’t cover heating costs that were running unusually high at this time of year. This contribution helped many families who were struggling with the cost of heating this year.Through the donations through LIHEAP we hoped to alleviate potential life-threatening energy-related emergencies or needed repairs during this past prolonged cold snap.”
